Wyoming Valley West school board allows fall sports; COVID-19 tests possible

NANTICOKE &mdash; An 18-inch water main ruptured on West Broadway Street forcing Greater Nanticoke Area and Luzerne County Community College to cancel classes Monday.
				Due to the break, a boil water advisory was issued for customers in Nanticoke, Newport Township and the Dundee section of Hanover Township.
				A post from Pennsylvania American Water said the break occurred in a remote area, more than 20 feet below a fill dump site.
				Water buffaloes have been placed at Opplinger Towers, Nanticoke Towers, Park Towers, Birchwood Nursing Home, Weis Market, Nanticoke Fire Department Headquarters and the Honey Pot Fire Department.
				Pennsylvania American Water said crews were in the process of repairing the break with no estimation of time when repairs will be completed.
				Due to the water disruption, tanker trucks from Hazle Township Fire/Rescue, Wright Township Fire Department and Mount Zion Fire Department have been placed at Nanticoke City Fire Department Headquarters and Station 4 in the Hanover Section of Nanticoke.
