Plains Twp. man held on allegations he sold methamphetamine

EDWARDSVILLE &mdash; Borough police arrested Anayah Nyasia Maldonado, 18, on charges she assaulted her boyfriend&rsquo;s father with a knife inside a residence on Short Street on Wednesday.
				Maldonado was kicked out of the residence by Jeremy Dukes but returned armed with a military style knife. During a struggle for the knife, Dukes sustained lacerations to his hand, according to court records.
				Maldonado was arraigned by District Judge Thomas Malloy Sr. in Luzerne County Central Court on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment. She was released on $25,000 unsecured bail.
				According to the criminal complaint:
				Police responded to a disturbance on Short Street just after 11 p.m., encountering multiple people outside screaming and yelling.
				Police said they discovered Dukes suffered from lacerations to his hand during a struggle with Maldonado while she was carrying a military style knife.
				Dukes told police he told Maldonado she needed to leave his residence and placed some of her belongings on the front porch.
				When Dukes left to pick up his wife at her place of employment, Maldonado and her mother were walking up the street. Maldonado was carrying a knife she used to strike a window on Dukes&rsquo; vehicle.
				Dukes told police when he returned home with his wife, he noticed Maldonado enter his residence with his son.
				Dukes claimed he saw Maldonado holding the knife above her head while standing over another son seated on a couch.
				Police in the complaint said Dukes struggled with Maldonado and sustained lacerations to his hand, the complaint says.
				During the struggle, a laptop computer was thrown from the house that smashed into pieces.
				Police said a military style knife was found covered with blood.
