WILKES-BARRE &mdash; Wilkes University President Greg Cant had a slightly different perspective on the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks during a brief commemorative ceremony at the campus Veterans Memorial Court Wednesday.
				&ldquo;I was in Australia, preparing to move to this country,&rdquo; Cant recalled.
				Still, he said, the real-time scenes of airplanes crashing into New York&rsquo;s Twin Towers, the news of citizens overpowering terrorists and crashing another jet in Shanksville, Pa., and the hit at the Pentagon had a powerful impact.
				&ldquo;The world seemed to stop, for days afterward,&rdquo; Cant said.
				He noted that &ldquo;first year students were born in the shadow of 9/11,&rdquo; and that their &ldquo;childhood is now bookended with the COVID-19 pandemic,&rdquo; hoping it was last such tragedy of their lives.
				And he reminded the small crowd attending an annual service truncated by the pandemic that a fundamental lesson from 9/11 remains true. He did not tie the message explicitly to reality of masked color guard presenting the flag, or the sparse crowd and the brevity of the service, but it fit America 19 years after what remains the worse terrorist attack on American soil.
				&ldquo;Of course, The world didn&rsquo;t stop.&rdquo;
