Man pleads guilty to charges stemming from theft of tools, car parts

Mr. and Mrs. Robert &ldquo;Bobby&rdquo; Baird, of Shavertown, were married Sept. 11, 1954, at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Scranton. Officiating the ceremony were Dr. Peter K. Emmons, the Rev. Raymond Ohman, uncle of the groom, and the Rev. George Roberts, father of the bride.
				Mrs. Patricia Baird attended Western Maryland College and is a registered nurse, having graduated from the Nesbitt Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She was an original founder, and coordinator and teacher for 39 years at the Trucksville Nursery School. She also taught Sunday school at the Trucksville United Methodist Church for 39 years.
				Mr. Baird attended Syracuse University and served four years as trumpet soloist with the United States Navy Band, Washington, D.C. On his return to the valley, he was associated in business with his father in the operation of Baird&rsquo;s Kingston Dairy. When the business was sold, he was employed as assistant sales manager at WILK and then as sales manager and part owner of WNAK Nanticoke for 20 years. He was the leader of the Bobby Baird Orchestra and Dixieland Jazz Band for more than 50 years. He is now affiliated with Car-ton Advertising and performs regularly with Doug Smith&rsquo;s Dixieland All Stars of Scranton.
				The Bairds have four children, Bonnie Baird, of Kennett Square; Robert III and wife, Christa, Northampton; Lori Baird Solomon and her husband, Dr. James Solomon, Earlysville, Va., and Wendy Baird, Columbia, Md. They also have eight grandchildren, Gregory Domzalski, Allison Davis, Robert IV, Bradley and Benjamin Baird, Matthew and Andrew Solomon, and Adam Weidemann. They also have five great-grandchildren, Riley, Brandon, Cora, Evangeline and Lila.
