Molasses crumb cake as inexplicable as Sasquatch

Sasquatch apparently leaves ‘footprint’ in the crumbs

A backpacker emerges from a wooden trail atop a molasses crumb cake to find a disturbingly large footprint. For my oldest brother’s birthday this month, I mixed my love of Legos and baking to re-imagine a shaped cake I decorated for his birthday in 1977, which depicted a backpacker standing in a large footprint holding an empty canteen near a sign pointing to a spring — in the same direction as the footprint.
