The Latest: Bills QB Allen's fast start makes team history

DALLAS &mdash; Just about 60 teams flocked to the Irem Country Club on Sunday afternoon to partake in one of the area&rsquo;s favorite pastimes &#8211; cornhole.
				The country club&rsquo;s pavilion was transformed into a tournament arena, with cornhole boards as far as the eye could see as the Back Mountain Chamber of Commerce held its first-ever cornhole tournament.
				&ldquo;We wanted to do something to help during this pandemic,&rdquo; said former Chamber president Jim Reino. &ldquo;The support from our local businesses has been incredible.&rdquo;
				A list of all the local businesses sponsoring the tournament could be seen next to a table full of baskets to be raffled off. Each basket was sponsored by a business.
				The event was organized in large part by Chamber member Sandy Race, who was just relieved to get the tournament off the ground.
				&ldquo;We had it scheduled for May originally, and had to cancel because of COVID,&rdquo; Race said. &ldquo;We moved it to July, and again had to move it. This was our third scheduled date.&rdquo;
				The calendar jumping didn&rsquo;t seem to deter any of Sunday&rsquo;s competitors, who showed out in full force to make a run at some serious prize money.
				The tournament was broken down into three divisions: Backyard level (the most relaxed level of competition), which comes with a $50 prize for first place, Intermediate with a $150 prize and Competitive, the winners of that level going home $315 richer.
				Ryan Baranski and his partner entered into the Competitive portion of the tournament.
				&ldquo;Go big or go home, right?&rdquo; Baranski said about his choice to enter into the Competitive division and face the toughest opposition.
				A native of Dallas, Baranski heard about the tournament through one of its organizers and got a team together to play. He would lose his first match, but still had a chance at the top prize in the double-elimination field.
				Others, like Mike Eck of Hunlock Creek, were fine taking on the field in the Backyard division.
				&ldquo;We&rsquo;ll see how it goes,&rdquo; Eck said while waiting for his first match. &ldquo;Maybe we&rsquo;ll make a run at this thing.&rdquo;
				The boards and bags came courtesy of NEPA Cornhole, members of which were both in the tournament field and effectively running the tournament.
				&ldquo;We&rsquo;ve seen how popular cornhole is around here,&rdquo; Reino said. &ldquo;We had a few members that recommended it.&rdquo;
				&ldquo;It&rsquo;s become a huge success,&rdquo; Race said. &ldquo;This is definitely something we&rsquo;ll bring back next year.&rdquo;
