WBPD searching for man wanted on child rape charges

PLAINS TWP. &mdash; Township police have obtained an arrest warrant for Joshua Dwayne Vanderhoff, 34, charged with slashing a woman in the neck Saturday night.
				Police Chief Dale Binker said Vanderhoff slashed the woman while the pair were fighting inside a vehicle at about 6:50 p.m. The woman was driving the vehicle and parked in the lot outside the Rite Aid Pharmacy on North River Road due to the domestic, Binker said.
				Binker said Vanderhoff slashed the woman and fled the vehicle. The woman ran into the pharmacy for help and collapsed, the police chief said.
				She was transported to Wilkes-Barre General Hospital where she underwent surgery.
				Binker said a massive search took place with assistance from Wilkes-Barre police and a canine unit and the state police aviation unit with its helicopter.
				Vanderhoff, last known address as Dundee Apartments, Hanover Township, was last seen running from the pharmacy&rsquo;s parking lot to a wooded area along the Susquehanna River.
				Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Vanderhoff is asked to call 911.
				Vanderhoff is facing charges of aggravated assault, simple assault and reckless endangerment.
