Election director alleges councilman defamed her
Luzerne County Election Bureau Director Shelby Watchilla demonstrates new voting technology earlier this year. Watchilla has sued county Councilman Walter Griffith for defamation, alleging he ‘made intentionally-defamatory statements against Watchilla and her handling of the Bureau of Elections.’ Griffith (inset) said he could not yet comment on Tuesday.
