H.S. Football: Friday night’s Tunkhannock at Lake-Lehman cancelled

LEHMAN TWP. &mdash; the report of a probable case of student with COVID-19 has prompted the cancellation of the high school football game with Tunkhannock Friday night, Oct. 23.
				&ldquo;This information was reported on October 23, 2020. The reported case pertains to a student at Lake-Lehman Junior-Senior High School,&rdquo; a note posted on the district website said, adding that the game is being cancelled &ldquo;In an abundance of caution,&rdquo; because &ldquo;we are unable to do the necessary contact tracing in such a short amount of time. We believe it is in the best interest of all athletes and game personnel to cancel the event this evening.&rdquo;
				Superintendent James McGovern also posted a letter to the district community noting the district is following state Department of Health guidance as well as that of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. &ldquo;The Rapid Response Center has been notified. &lsquo;Close Contacts of the individual who tested positive are identified through contact tracing,&rdquo; he wrote. Those who may have been infected will be contacted by the state with additional recommendations.
				&ldquo;Rest assured it is he highest priority of Lake-Lehman school board, administration, faculty and staff to keep our students healthy and safe while continuing to meet the educational, social and emotional needs of our students whose parents/guardians have opted to continue their child&rsquo;s education in the traditional setting.&rdquo;
