Luzerne County’s coronavirus hospitalizations rising, new state update shows

KINGSTON &mdash; A man wanted by Wilkes-Barre Township police on a drug trafficking offense was also charged by Kingston police with possessing an illegal drug.
				Jesse Geasey, 40, known as &ldquo;Bone Daddy&rdquo; for stealing a human skull from a mausoleum, was jailed Friday for lack of $10,000 bail on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
				Geasey was awaiting a second arraignment Friday afternoon on a warrant obtained by township police charging him with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and criminal use of communication facility.
				Geasey was previously arrested by township police in August 2019 when they found large quantities of methamphetamine, fentanyl, packaging materials, digital scales and cell phones inside a motel room where he was staying. Under terms of a plea agreement, prosecutors withdrew felony drug trafficking charges as Geasey pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor count of possession of a controlled substance.
				Geasey is well remembered for breaking into a mausoleum in Hollenback Cemetery in Wilkes-Barre and smashing a marble faceplate to a crypt on July 16, 2010. He forced open a rusty coffin and stole the skull of a woman who died Dec. 31, 1926.
				Geasey carried the skull in a backpack for several days and tossed the skull into the Susquehanna River, court records say.
				It wasn&rsquo;t the first time Geasey had stolen human remains from Hollenback Cemetery.
				Wilkes-Barre police accused Geasey, then 18, in may 1998 of stealing bones from several caskets belonging to a doctor, his wife and children. He was sentenced to probation in 1999, according to court records.
