US won't seek death penalty in Planned Parenthood case

King&rsquo;s, Wilkes and Misericordia still have a chance to play winter sports this school year.
				The Middle Atlantic Conference announced its support for moving forward with basketball, wrestling, swimming and indoor track on Wednesday, hoping to start with basketball in February depending on developments with the coronavirus pandemic.
				In a release, the conference said that school presidents met earlier this week and will continue to meet over the next few months to continue tracking the pandemic and health and safety recomendations from local, state and national public health authorities. 
				&ldquo;We continue to be hopeful that circumstances will allow intercollegiate competition to resume for MAC institutions in 2021,&rdquo; said Megan Morrison, MAC executive director. &ldquo;While we remain hopeful, we simultaneously share in the disappointment that our athletics communities feel in having championships canceled and seasons cut short.&rdquo;
				At the moment, the tentative plan for men&rsquo;s and women&rsquo;s basketball is to play a conference-only schedule that begins no earlier than mid-February. The season would stretch over a five-to-six week span with the possibility of a conference championship.
				The men&rsquo;s and women&rsquo;s swimming season would be in line to start in early March with a season that extends into mid-April. The MAC championships could possibly run at the end of the season, but that is not confirmed yet.
				Conference championship events for indoor track and wrestling have been canceled. These sports can still schedule games at the discretion of each school.
				As for men&rsquo;s and women&rsquo;s hockey, King&rsquo;s and Wilkes play in the United Collegiate Hockey Conference, which has not made a decision yet on a 2021 season.
				More decisions and announcements will be made in the next few weeks.
