SCRANTON &mdash; A Hanover Township man was sentenced earlier this month to more than 16 years in federal prison on a drug trafficking offense.
				Hakim Wilburn, 50, was sentenced to 198 months in prison by U.S. District Court Judge Robert D. Mariani on Dec. 3.
				Wilburn and his wife, Danielle Moore, were arrested when agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and police in Hanover Township and Wilkes-Barre executed search warrants at a residence on Boland Avenue, Hanover Township, and other properties they owned on Aug. 15, 2018.
				According to a federal indictment against Wilburn and Moore, they were accused of trafficking more than one kilogram of heroin and an unspecified amount of cocaine from June 2015 to August 2018.
				One kilogram is equivalent to 2.2 pounds that can produce more than 50,000 heroin packets.
				Wilburn, Moore and other unnamed co-conspirators were accused of distributing heroin and cocaine for money and other valuables, and used cell phones to maintain contact with each other and customers, according to the indictment.
				The indictment alleged Wilburn, Moore and others used the Boland Avenue residence and other homes in Luzerne County for the purpose of storage and distribution of heroin and cocaine.
				Agents seized approximately $100,000 in cash from Wilburn, which was forfeited as a result of his prosecution, along with multiple Rolex watches, vehicles and four firearms.
				According to U.S. Attorney David J. Freed, Wilburn was sentenced to conspiring with others to distribute heroin. Wilburn also admitted, Freed stated, to distributing more than 500 grams of cocaine.
				Moore pleaded guilty to conspiring to distribute more than one kilogram of heroin and is awaiting sentencing, Freed stated.
