WILKES-BARRE &mdash; Step By Step Inc. announced the appointment of Eric Lindey as its new president and CEO.
				Lindey&rsquo;s appointment is effective Monday. He most recently served as executive vice president PA Adult IDD services at Inperium, Inc. and president/CEO of Supportive Concepts For Families, Inc.
				Lindey succeeds James Bobeck, who retired after 42 years with the private, non-profit corporation that provides community support services to individuals with intellectual disabilities, behavioral health difficulties, autism spectrum disorders and physical disabilities. Step By Step Inc., established in 1977, provides services to over 2,000 individuals in four regions across more than a dozen Pennsylvania counties.
				Throughout his 30-year career in human services, Lindey has worked in a management capacity with county government, supports coordination, and provider organizations. He was the founder and CEO of The Hab Group before merging it with a large non-profit provider.
				George Rable, chairperson of Step By Step&rsquo;s Board of Directors welcomed Lindey. &ldquo;This search process was lengthy and we cast a wide net to get the right professional to lead the agency forward. We&rsquo;re confident that Eric is that person who will leverage the leadership examples set by Jim Bobeck and Mike Bernatovich, while taking us to the next level of success for our consumers and employees,&rdquo; Rable said.
				Mike Bernatovich, Step By Step&rsquo;s interim CEO said, &ldquo;We look forward to Eric joining the Step By Step Team. His wealth of experience in the human service field is impressive and will help Step By Step strengthen its reputation as a quality driven agency.&rdquo;
				Lindey holds a Masters of Arts from Seton Hall University and a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies. He received an honorable discharge from the United States Army Reserve serving an 8-year commitment. He is a past recipient of the Linda Rosen Memorial Award for &ldquo;Outstanding Direct Care Staff&rdquo; given by the Allegheny County Department of Human Services. In 2017, Lindey was named a Wishart Fellow by The Forbes Funds and attended the Carnegie Bosch Institute at Carnegie Mellon University.
				Lindey is a member of The National Association of QMRP&rsquo;s, American Association of Developmental Disabilities, the National Association of Direct Support Professionals, and the American College of Healthcare Executives.
