KINGSTON &mdash; Kingston Police took a man into custody late Monday afternoon after a long afternoon of pursuit and negotiation.
				According to Kingston Police Chief Richard Kotchik, police were called to a church on Zerbey Avenue around 1:06 p.m. on a report of a domestic dispute. After a search of the former St. Hedwig&rsquo;s Church failed to locate a suspect, police then returned to the original scene of the incident at 225 Zerbey Ave., a few doors down from the church.
				According to police, arrested was Argenis Lopez, Jr., 22, of Laflin. Kotchik said he will be charged with simple assault, strangulation, aggravated assault against an officer and obstruction of justice.
				Kotchik said the suspect ordered a pit bull to attack officers. The officers used a Taser to stop the pit bull, Kotchik said.
				&ldquo;When we arrived at the house, we heard loud arguing coming from inside,&rdquo; Kotchik said. &ldquo;Officers used a Taser to secure the suspect and take him into custody.&rdquo;
				Kotchik said Lopez put up a struggle, but officers were able to restrain him.
				Several neighbors on Zerbey Avenue were on their porches to observe what was going on. None of them were aware of the nature of the incident.
				Lopez was arraigned on Monday night in front of Magisterial District Judge James J. Haggerty and lodged at Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $250,000 in bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Dec. 23.
