Dallas&rsquo; returning backcourt had a big night as the Mountaineers defeated Crestwood 58-50 Saturday in a Wyoming Valley Conference boys basketball game.
				Austin Finarelli scored a game-high 24 points while Nick Nocito added 21. The two are the lone returning starters from a team which moved to the PIAA Class 5A state quarterfinals last season, only to have the season canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
				Mike Zaleski led Crestwood with 14 points.
				Riverside 62, Tunkhannock 45
				Brandon Reed scored 11 of his game-high 31 points in the third quarter as the Vikings pulled away to defeat Tunkhannock.
				Todd Monahan added 12 for Riverside.
				Ryan Harder had 13 and Dylan Mateus added 11 for Tunkhannock, which was playing its second game in as many days.
				Wilkes-Barre Area 51, Lake-Lehman 49
				The Wolfpack posted their second win of the season by edging Lake-Lehman.
				Cole Walker scored 18 to pace WBA. Saquan Portee and Naquon Hollman added 10 each.
				Neil Dougherty and Josh Kane scored 14 apiece for Lehman. Max Paczewski tossed in 12.
				Allentown Cent. Cath. 42, Holy Redeemer 41 OT
				Holy Redeemer let a first-half lead slip away in the season opener and ultimately fell to Allentown Central Catholic in overtime.
				Matt Prociak and Justice Shoats carried the offense for the Royals, generating nearly three quarters of their team&rsquo;s offense. Prociak finished with 17 points and Shoats added 11 points.
				Tyson Thomas proved to be a force for Allentown Central Catholic with a game-high 18 points.
				H.S. GIRLS BASKETBALL
				Riverside 60, Hanover Area 2
				The season didn&rsquo;t start the way Hanover Area had hoped, falling to Riverside in a lopsided game.
				Riverside kept the Hawkeyes off the board in the first half.
				Nativity 55, Northwest 42
				Samantha Heenan led all scorers with 30 points as Nativity pulled away in the fourth quarter.
				Charleigh Miner scored 14 and Kennedy Yaple netted13 for Northwest. Morgan Hermanofski added seven.
				Holy Redeemer 52, Williamsport 37
				Faith Sekol scored 13 points and Aleia Atherton added 10 as Redeemer posted a non-conference victory on the road.
				H.S. WRESTLING
				Hazleton Area 39, Berwick 18
				Oscar Zamudio (120), Beck Hutchison (138), Bryce Molinaro (189) and Seth Hunsinger (285) recorded first-period pins for Hazleton Area. Molinaro had the quickest fall of the night, needing just 55 seconds.
				Johnny Corra (113) also had a pin for the Cougars.
				Kyle Winter (126) and Trystan English (172) had pins for Berwick.
				Lake-Lehman 52, Hanover Area 12
				Josh Bonomo (160) won by pin and Zach Stuart (145) won by major decision for Lake-Lehman, which picked up seven forfeit wins.
				Cael Davis (126) and Christian Torres (172) won by decision for Hanover Area in the only other contested bouts.
				H.S. BOYS SWIMMING
				Hazleton Area 116, Williamsport 60
				The Cougars jumped out to a strong start of the season behind Anthony Goulstone and Thomas Pollock.
				Goulstone helped win the 400 freestyle relay and individually won the 200 IM and 100 backstroke. Pollock won the 50 freestyle and 100 breastroke and helped win the 200 freestyle relay. Both Goulstone and Pollock also both helped win the 200 medley relay.
				H.S. GIRLS SWIMMING
				Williamsport 114, Hazleton Area 60
				Williamsport dominated the pool in the season opener behind both Mallory Pardoe and Sydney Kelley.
				Pardoe and Kelley both helped win the 200 medley relay and 200 freestyle relay. Kelley won the 200 freestyle and Pardoe won the 100 butterfly.
