Donald Helsman &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Nov. 15, 1992 &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Donald A. Helsman, 77, of Allenwood, RD 1, died Sunday in the Evangelical &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Community Hospital, LewisburgBorn on April 19, 1915, in Wilkes-Barre, he
was a son of the late Albert J. and Valeria Furber Helsman. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was a 1933 graduate of the Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre, and a
1934 graduate of the Valley Forge Military Academy. He attended the University
of Pennsylvania, and in 1937 enlisted in the Pennsylvania State Police,
retiring in 1973 as a corporal following 36 years of service. He was then
employed by the Union County Sheriff's Office, Lewisburg, 10 years. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was a member of the Washington Presbyterian Church, Allenwood, and
served as president of the Uniontown Cemetery Association, Allenwood. He was
also a member of the F&amp;AM Lodge 707, Williamsport; Williamsport Consistory,
Ethel P. Lodge 409, Mountoursville; Northeast Retired Pennsylvania State
Police Association, Central Pennsylvania State Police Association. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He and his wife, the former Elisabeth Jamison, were married 47 years. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Surviving are daughters, Susan E., Watsontown, RD 1; Sara C., Altoona;
brother, Joseph A., Mechanicsburg. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Funeral services will be 11 a.m. today from the Cronrath Funeral Home, 308
Main St., Watsontown. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Interment will be in Uniontown Cemetery, Allenwood. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Friends may call today 9:30 a.m. until services. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to the Washington
Presbyterian Church or the Uniontown Cemetery Association, Allenwood.
