Mission Into Somalia Is A Welcome Move

they shouldn't expect to be called up, military officials said. While some
reserve units that handle support tasks, such as medical and transportation,
might supply volunteers, nothing on the scale of the call-ups during the Gulf
War is expected, the officials said. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 While about 300,000 U.S. military troops participated in the Gulf War, no
more than 10 percent of that figure is expected to be needed in Somalia. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 One area unit, however, could wind up supplying some volunteers. Some
members of the Wyoming-based 92nd Aerial Port Squadron could be tapped to load
cargo planes at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware, as they did during Operation
Desert Storm, according to Capt. Roberta Buchmoyer, spokeswoman for the
squadron's parent unit, the 512th Airlift Wing at Dover, . &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Buchmoyer said she didn't expect any of the squadron's 150 members would be
called to active duty involuntarily because she expects there will be enough
volunteers if they are needed.
