NEP Communications must pay $175,000 in suit settlement &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Due to a reporter's error, an article on Page 1D of Wednesday's Times
Leader about a settlement of a lawsuit in Luzerne County Court on Monday
contained incorrect information. This is what it should have said: &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; According to settlement terms, NEP Communications Inc. must pay $175,000 to &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Zigmund Lefkoski Jr., owner of Ziggy's Auto Body Shop in Wilkes-Barre,
before Jan. 30, 1993. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Lefkoski, of Hunlock Creek, alleged NEP defamed him in television
broadcasts eight years ago. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Court papers reported that Lefkoski gave two estimates to repair an
International Scout belonging to Patricia and Peter Shuleski of Nanticoke.
Patricia Shuleski directed Lefkoski to do work at the higher of the two
estimates but instructed him to use used parts where possible to reduce the
price. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Lefkoski installed a used left front fender but inadvertently failed to
indicate that on the invoice, according to the court papers. In April 1984,
Peter Shuleski discovered the used part and lodged complaints against Lefkoski
with WNEP-TV, Channel 16, formerly owned by NEP, and the state Bureau of
Consumer Protection. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The station televised a broadcast three times on or about May 28 and 29,
1984, and a follow up on Aug. 8 of that year, according to the suit. Lefkoski
charged the station portrayed him as "a dishonest and deceitful businessman
who cheated his customer by allegedly installing a used fender despite
promising to install, and charging for, a new fender."
