 John W. Thomas, 85, of New Grove Street, Wilkes-Barre, died Friday
afternoon in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains TownshipBorn Aug.
2, 1907, in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late John F. and Elizabeth
Collett Thomas. He attended Wilkes-Barre schools. He was a master plumber
throughout Wyoming Valley. He was employed at the White Haven State School
from 1966 until retiring in 1986. He was a member of Caldwell Consistory,
Bloomsburg; and Landmark Lodge 442, F.&amp; A.M. He was also a member of the
Baptist Tabernacle Church, Wilkes-Barre. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He and his wife, the former Pearl G. Belles, celebrated their 55th wedding
anniversary on Sept. 19, 1992. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Funeral services will be at a time to be announced Monday from the
Mamary-Durkin Funeral Home Inc., 59 Parrish St., Wilkes-Barre. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Interment will be in Fern Knoll Burial Park, Dallas. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
