Times Leader Buck Poll returns with one change &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The Times Leader again wants to recognize successful hunters in our annual &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; ``Buck Poll,'' in which we list the names of people who have bagged bucks.
But some previous abuses have forced us to make one important change in the
way we are going to accept submissionsThis year, you can submit Buck Poll
entries either by mail or in person, but in both cases we need to see your
hunting license. You can show us your actual license if you drop by in person,
or send us a photocopy if you mail your Buck Poll entry. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 None of this would be necessary if people hadn't been abusive and, in some
cases cruel, in the past. Some Buck Poll entries were inaccurate and others
were fake. People have been hurt and embarrassed. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 For example, we've received Buck Poll entries claiming success by people
who had recently passed away or were confined to hospital beds. When we asked
for telephone numbers so that we could confirm entries, people gave false
numbers and then continued the charade so we would print the false entries. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Despite our best efforts to prevent it, innocent people were hurt. Imagine
how you would feel if a loved one who has been disabled for years was listed
in the Poll as having bagged a buck. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 That's why we need a photocopy of your hunting license. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Local hunters who combed the woods and managed to harvest a trophy
whitetail deserve the recognition. But we must take precautions to make sure
our Buck Poll is accurate. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 If you want to be recognized for your deer hunting accomplishments, send a
note to: Buck Poll, The Times Leader, 15 N. Main Street, Wilkes-Barre, Pa.
18711. Tell us your name, age, address, size of the deer, where you were
hunting and who you were hunting with. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Also, if you have a good, clear photograph of yourself and your trophy, you
may also submit that to us. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 And, include a photocopy of your hunting license with your Buck Poll entry!
Yes, it's a little extra effort. But that effort will eliminate the
possibility of anyone suffering embarrassment. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
