WILKES-BARRE -- Police are looking for a driver who fled the scene of a
three-car accident Friday afternoon at the intersection of South Main and
Academy streets. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Tammy Franks, 23, of State College, told police she had a green light when
she drove her 1988 Mazda through the intersection and hit a car driven by
Scott Koerber, of Wilkes-Barre. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Koerber, 17, of Flood Drive, told police he was driving south on South Main
Street and had a yellow light at the Academy Street intersection. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Franks broadsided Koerber, and pushed his car into a third car. The unknown
driver of the third car fled the scene of the accident. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Franks was taken to Nesbitt Hospital, where she was treated and released.
Her Mazda was towed from the accident. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Police ask if anyone has any information concerning the third car, a black
Escort or Volkswagen, to call 826-8111. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Items stolen from home &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 WILKES-BARRE -- Someone stole a videocassette recorder, a Super Nintendo
machine and a game cartridge from a Sullivan Street house on Friday morning,
police report. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Karl Drexinger told police that someone entered his home between 2:30 and
5:30 a.m. and stole the items. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Business burglarized &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 WILKES-BARRE -- Police report a burglary took place Friday morning at
Single Point of Contact, South Washington Street. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Sometime before 7:50 a.m., someone stole a television and VCR, police
report. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Back door kicked in &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 WILKES-BARRE -- Mary Beth Owens, of Willow Street, discovered Friday that
the back door of her house was kicked in, police said, but nothing appeared to
have been stolen. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Bank window smashed &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 WILKES-BARRE -- Someone smashed a window of the Merchant Bank, Market
Street, Friday afternoon, police said. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Police believe the window, located on the Franklin Street side of the bank,
was smashed by a 6-foot, 240-pound white man with blond hair who was standing
near the window at the time of the vandalism. The suspect was wearing a blue
cap, a blue denim jacket and had his hair shaved in a triangle pattern, police
said. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Man reports assault &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 WILKES-BARRE -- John Joe Nardone, 31, reported to police that he was
assaulted Saturday morning and robbed of $87. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Nardone, of Tedrick Street, Jenkins Township, was leaving his car at
Denny's's Restaurant, Kidder Street, when he was approached by three or four
unidentified men, he said. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was treated for facial injuries at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital and
released.
