REMAINS IN COMA 





WILKES-BARRE -- A city man critically injured in a four-vehicle accident
Sunday afternoon remained in a coma in a hospital intensive care unit, police
said Tuesday. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Carl Konecke, whose truck was struck by a bus at South River and West Ross
streets, was listed in critical condition at Community Medical Center in
Scranton, said patrolman Michael Land of the Wilkes-Barre Police Department. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Konecke, 48, of Miner Street, was thrown from his truck upon impact, police
said. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 No citations have been issued and an investigation is under way, Land said. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 "We are waiting for blood-alcohol test results before determining if
citations should be filed," he said. "We had everyone undergo the test. It is
standard procedure in an accident of this severity." &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Thomas Clarke, whose car was struck by Konecke's truck, was taken into
custody on suspicion of drunken driving, but has not been issued a citation,
Land said. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The school bus driver, Patrick Kasson, did not suffer any serious injuries.
Police said no other passengers were on the bus. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The bus also knocked down a street light before running into an apartment
building. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The driver of another vehicle involved in the accident, Deborah Williams of
Wilkes-Barre, was treated at Nesbitt Memorial Hospital in Kingston that day. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

 WILKES-BARRE -- Joseph Romanick of Logan Street told police someone sprayed
paint on the trunk and license plate of his car Sunday night. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Thief takes wheelchair &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 WILKES-BARRE -- Police report someone stole a wheelchair from the front
porch of a house on Jones Street last week. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Michael Noonan told police the $400 wheelchair was used by a disabled
family member. He said the wheelchair is a Rolls model with a maroon leather
seat. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
