Why do we need parenting education? &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Hazleton Area School District guidance counselor Phil Latella said
parenting education is needed today because: &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Society has changed so much in the past 30 years, the need for new
parenting skills has become imperativeThe old autocratic approach seems to
foster rebellion in modern children. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The newer permissive style also has been found wanting. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Parents want something that works. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 With so much mobility, &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 the informal parenting education of the extended family is missing. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Parenting has become recognized as a skill and, like any skill, it can be
improved.
