Assaulted man sues businesses &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 A Schuylkill County man is suing the Woodlands Inn and Resort and others
for &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; $30,000 after he was hit in the head with two beer bottles while in a
nightclub at the Plains Township establishmentKevin Ridge of Port Carbon also
named Rokum Inc. and S &amp; B Restaurant Inc., both of Plains Township, as
defendants. The two businesses and the Woodlands own, operate and maintain the
25th Hour, a nightclub in The Woodlands. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Ridge also is suing Anthony Gillette and Kevin Roginski, both of Scranton,
whom he says are the men who assaulted him. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Ridge says that, while he was at the 25th Hour in January 1992, Gillette
and Roginski shouted obscenities and threatened to hit him with a beer bottle.
Ridge says Gillette then smashed a bottle across his face and Roginski smashed
another bottle over the back of his head and pushed him to the ground. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The defendants' assault, the suit claims, permanently scarred and
disfigured Ridge and caused pain and suffering and loss of work. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Ridge also is suing each of the three business establishments, saying they
failed to provide adequate safety measures for their customers. The suit
claims there were not enough employees at the nightclub to observe and watch
for trouble, and therefore no one tried to stop the actions of Gillette and
Roginski. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The suit also claims the Woodlands Inn and Resort, S &amp; B Restaurant Inc.
and Rokum Inc. knew or should have known Gillette and Roginski were visibly
intoxicated and should not have served alcohol to them, which influenced the
assault. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Civil suits filed in county court &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The following civil suits were filed recently in Luzerne County Court: &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Linda and William Walthour of East Avenue, Bear Creek Township, filed a
$50,000 suit against the Geisinger Medical Group, Wilkes-Barre Boulevard, and
one of its doctors. The suit claims David S. Moore, M.D., was negligent in his
ear-wax removal treatment of Linda Walthour, causing injury and hearing loss. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 James and Bernadine Moses of West Main Street, Plymouth, filed suit against
John and Millie Passeri of Schuyler Avenue, Kingston, and their business,
Allanti's Restaurant. The suit claims the defendants are using restaurant
equipment that belonged to the previous proprietor of the Schuyler Street
business, which was a pizza shop. The suit further claims the former
proprietor owed the Moses' more than $11,000 for the equipment, which the
Passeris agreed to pay. The Moses' say they never received any payments and
are suing the Passeris for the money. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 EAM-MOSCA Corp. of Valmont Drive, West Hazleton, is suing Publishers
Distributions Services Inc. of New York for $9,034 in unpaid bills. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Leroy Hartzell of Fairview Avenue, Berwick, filed a $20,000 suit against
The Tilbury Inn Inc., Route 11, West Nanticoke, for injuries he says he
sustained when he slipped on ice and fell while on the establishment's
property. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Liens placed on county property &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 WILKES-BARRE -- The United States Department of Treasury recently filed the
following liens in the Luzerne County Prothonotary's Office against properties
and property owners &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Erie Lichtenstein of Debery Drive, Edwardsville, $117,578.36. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Riverview Redi-Mix Concrete Inc. of RR 2, Wapwallopen, $15,968.07. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 John Yarosz of Atherholt Drive, Wyoming, $53,757.96. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 All Phase Quality Construction Co. Inc. of Robert Street, Sheatown,
$9,263.96.
