 Council considers request to build town recreation center &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The ball may be in the court of the Dupont Borough Council to help the
community get a recreation centerThe Dupont Athletic Association sent a letter
Tuesday asking the council to purchase an abandoned building at the corner of
Everhart and Spruce streets and turn it into a recreation center. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The council discussed the letter at Tuesday's night's council meeting.
Mayor George Legezdh said the council will take the recommendation under
consideration. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The abandoned building is known to Dupont residents as Polonial Hall and
the Old Community Hall. In the past, the building has been used for a dance
hall, bowling lanes and recently a dress factory. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The Dupont Athletic Association suggested how the council could raise the
money to buy the abandoned property. The group suggested selling 33 acres of
borough property located by the International Trade Zone along Commerce Road.
