 Jan. 17, 1994 &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; John H. Perey, 65, of RR1, Benton, died Monday in Mercy Hospital, &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Wilkes-BarreBorn in Brooklyn, New York, he was a son of the late John F.
and Florence Spilbor Perey. He was a 1954 graduate of Colby College,
Waterville, Maine. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He lived in Fairmount Springs for the past 39 years. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was employed as an insurance adjuster in Wilkes-Barre for 10 years and
since then was self-employed as a freelance writer. He also did furniture
restoration, retiring one year ago. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Surviving are his wife, the former Barbara Brockway, with whom he
celebrated his 39th wedding anniversary on Sept. 11, 1993; daughters, Mrs.
Charles G. (Roberta) Fick III, Saginaw, Mich.; Mrs. Jimmy (Patricia) Spencer,
Huntersville, N.C.; Mrs. Ben (Diana) Mike, Berwick; Mrs. William J. (Pamela)
Shalata Jr., Beaumont; 11 grandchildren. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Private services will be from the Dean W. Kriner Inc. Funeral Home, Benton. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 There will be no calling hours. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Memorial donations may be made to the National Lupus Foundation, Chest-Mont
Chapter, RR1, Box 254, Pottstown, 19464.
