 According to a witness list prepared by the American Civil Liberties Union, &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; allegations from inmates testifying in a class-action suit brought against
the state Department of Corrections include: &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Raymond Stewart, DallasSeverely beaten on March 14, 1991. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 George Brooks, Dallas. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Witnessed assaults on at least two inmates. Attacked by fellow inmates.
Taken off medical leave without explanation. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Richard Mullen, Dallas. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Physically assaulted by a guard. Witnessed assaults on other inmates in
March 1992. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Louis Earl Harris, Dallas. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Housed in dayroom on Dec. 21, 1992, with 23 other inmates, with only one
shower and one toilet. Insufficient assistance from librarian. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Scott Dougherty, Dallas. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Verbally harassed by a guard in August 1990. Physically assaulted by
another inmate in October 1992. Denied medical treatment for injuries received
in November 1992. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 David Johnson, Retreat. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Arm broken by guard in 1990. Witnessed guards assault another inmate when
he refused to eat pork for religious reasons in 1990. Physically assaulted by
another inmate in March 1992. Legal papers confiscated. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Thomas McEachin, Dallas. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Exposed to excessive noise and smoke. Limited opportunities to enter
educational or job programs. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Michael Wilson, Dallas. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Denied underwear for several weeks. Limited access to job programs.
