Lester Lewis &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Jan. 29, 1994 &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Lester R. Lewis, 72, of Summit Street, Shavertown, died Saturday at Nesbitt &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Memorial Hospital, KingstonBorn June 22, 1921, in Nanticoke, he was the son
of the late Charles and Ruth Ungemach Lewis. He was a 1939 graduate of
Nanticoke High School, earned a bachelor's degree in music instrumental
education from West Chester State Teacher's College, a master's degree from
Ithaca College and did graduate work at the University of Wyoming. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in Europe. Prior to
retiring in 1980, he was a member of the faculties of Dallas Borough, Kingston
Township and Dallas Township High School as a band director for 34 years. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Shavertown; Nanticoke Lodge
541 F.&amp; A.M.; Caldwell Consistory; Valley of Bloomsburg; and Irem Temple
A.A.O.N.M.S., Wilkes-Barre, where he served as director of the Irem Temple
Brass Band for many years and was presently director emeritus. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was also a member of the Pennsylvania State Educators Association, the
Pennsylvania State Association of Retirees and the American Association of
Retired Persons. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Surviving are his wife, the former Marie Jones; daughters, Mrs. Gerald
(Ruth) Alborn, Dover, Del.; Mrs. Robin (Patricia) Miller, Glen Moore; four
grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Harry (Freda) Lux, Lee Park, Hanover Township;
several nieces and nephews. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday from the William E. Davis
Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad St., Nanticoke, with the Rev. Harold Baer, pastor,
officiating. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Interment will be in St. James Cemetery, Hobbie. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Monday. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Masonic services by Nanticoke Lodge 541, F.&amp; A.M., will be 4 p.m. Monday.
