 Police warn drivers in borough parking rules to be enforced &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Complaints to council members about parking conditions on Plymouth's
snow-lined streets are as plentiful as the snow itself, so the borough council
used Tuesday night's work session to discuss problems and solutionsCouncil
members said they have received many reports of illegally parked cars making
visibility low for drivers. Police Chief John Thomas said tickets are being
issued and the department will continue to enforce existing laws. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Council also received questions about the legality of residents claiming
parking spaces with garbage cans and other objects. Council agreed there is no
borough ordinance preventing it. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 A proposed parking ordinance also was discussed and council will vote on
whether to advertise it at the regular meeting Feb. 8. The ordinance must be
advertised for seven days before a vote can be taken. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The proposed ordinance would place restrictions on parking from Center
Avenue to Turner Street during certain hours of the day. The ordinance is
being developed because of complaints from residents about a lack of parking
while Wyoming Valley West High School is in session. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 In other business, the council: &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Plans to discuss double-parked school buses on Shawnee Street with Valley
West administrators. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Announced elections for chairman and vice chairman of council will be
Tuesday. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Said the borough's annual audit also will be presented Tuesday.
