HANOVER TWP. — During a virtual community meeting Monday, Hanover Area School District Superintendent Nathan Barrett announced the gradual return to hybrid will be moved to March 15. The plan pushed all proposals announced last month back two more weeks on the calendar.

On March 1, special needs students would return to school, including autistic support, emotional support, life-skills and other “highest need” students determined on a case by case basis.

On March 15, Pre-K, early intervention and 6th grade students would return in hybrid mode. On March 22, K-12 would return in hybrid mode.

Parents will still have the option of using full-remote mode. The hybrid mode remains as originally planned, with group A (white) attending Monday through Thursday in-person while group B (blue) learns remotely at home. Friday would have no students in schools so a deep cleaning could be done. The next week, the two groups would switch.

Provided the spread of the COVID-19 virus continues to decline, the specific plan is to bring back sixth grade group B on March 15th, bring back group A for all grades March 22, and have group B for all grades back March 29.
