 The recent outcry of horror by the Japanese at the United States Post
Office's proposed nuclear bomb stamp (Dec. 4) is understandable if only part
of the story is toldThe stamp should show the rest of the picture -- including
the unprovoked and infamous bombing on Dec. 7, 1941 of Pearl Harbor and
subsequent bombings of other Pacific bases. There were many other violations
to mankind that the Japanese soldiers committed. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; I still remember seeing as a young child pictures of Japanese soldiers
bayoneting babies in Nanking, China. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The feelings of the American people were so frightened and intense during
World War II. We felt the atomic bomb was strictly self-defense, as horrible
as it was. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 I had an uncle who was a Japanese prisoner of war who never came home; so
my family was probably more aware of Japanese atrocities than of German war
crimes. &amp;
