Arlene Kester &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Nov. 30, 1994 &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Arlene A. Kester, 76, formerly of Nescopeck, died Wednesday afternoon at
the &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Berwick Retirement Village, where she has lived for the past three
yearsBorn in Williamsport on June 15, 1918, she was a daughter of the late
Wesley and Eva Grotten Matthews. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 She lived in Shickshinny before moving to Nescopeck, where she lived for
eight years. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 She was a graduate of Williamsport High School. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 She retired as a cook from the Berwick Elks Lodge and was previously
employed as a cook at LaBar's Truckstop for more than 10 years. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 She was a member of the Ladies of the Moose, Berwick, and the former
Nescopeck Free Methodist Church. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 She was preceded in death by her husband, William, in 1964. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Surviving are children, Eva Kemper, Berwick; William, Bloomsburg; Robert,
Berwick; Donald, Danville; Jack E., Wilkes-Barre; 11 grandchildren; six
great-grandchildren; sister, Evelyn Masser and brothers, Raymond and Jake
Matthews, all of Williamsport. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Heller Funeral Home,
Nescopeck, with the Rev. Darvin C. Donahey, pastor, God's Missionary Church,
Berwick, officiating. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Interment will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. Sunday. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
