John Volk &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Dec. 18, 1994 &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; John Volk, 67, of Kelly Drive, Deptford, N.J., a former resident of &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Swoyersville, died Sunday in University of Pennsylvania Hospital, &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 PhiladelphiaBorn in Swoyersville on April 20, 1927, he was the son of the
late Andrew and Josephine Wolch Volk. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was a 1st Infantry Division veteran of World War II, serving in the
Normandy Invasion and receiving the Purple Heart. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was preceded in death by sisters, Dorothy Volk, Margaret Kuligowski and
Helen Neis; and a brother, Walter. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Surviving are sisters, Louise Baumgardner, Concord, Calif.; Mary Theresa
Brazitis, Plymouth; and a brother, Stanley, Buffalo, N.Y. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Surviving are his wife, the former Grade Ittner; son, John Jr., Arkansas;
daughters, Mrs. Kimberly Brooks and Eva Marie Brock, of New Jersey; and seven
grandchildren. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Friends may call today at Deptford Funeral Home. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Interment will be Wednesday in Arwey Town Veterans Cemetery in New Jersey. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
