Hate mongers: Don't even think about coming into Luzerne County &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Having read with disdain the articles in the media regarding the hate
mongers who are circulating flyers in Wilkes-Barre, I am moved to respondThis
kind of behavior has no place in this county. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; From my personal frame of reference, I was born and reared on Moyallen
Street in Wilkes-Barre. Our neighbors were a diverse mix of racial, religious
and ethnic backgrounds. We had the Walters (black), the Reisingers (German),
the Chiampis (Italian), the Liebermans (Jewish), the Grays (English), and our
family (Middle Eastern). &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 We ate at each others' homes and each mother was mother to all. Hate had no
place on Moyallen Street. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Later I directed a program for migrant laborers. The majority were either
black or Hispanic. My staff and I went in and out of the migrant camps at
night and during the day. We respected and loved each other. Hate had no place
in the migrant camps. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Therefore, we who have assumed leadership in this county must be the ones
who express love as a balm for whatever social ills exist. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The solution to conquering hate is not only in our heads, but in our
hearts. Where love is, hatred cannot reside. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Let us join together with this mighty power available to all of us and
drive out the hate mongers from our midst. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Because we believe in one God, Father of all of us -- black, white,
Hispanic, Oriental, Christian or Jew -- hate has no place on North River
Street or anywhere in Luzerne County. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
