George Potak &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Dec. 23, 1994 &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; George A. ``Father George'' Potak of Girard Avenue, Plymouth, died Friday
in &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Wilkes-Barre General HospitalBorn in Chicago, he was the son of the late
Albert and Margaret Dudziak Potak. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was educated in Chicago schools and was a member of St. Stephen's Roman
Catholic Church, Wadhams Street, Plymouth. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theater
as a paratrooper. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a baker by Kornblatt's Bakery,
Old River Road Bakery and Pierce Bakery for several years. Before that, he had
been employed as a custodian at St. Stephen's Church for more than 20 years
and as a coal miner for 13 years. Also, he was employed by the Glen Nan and
Loree Collieries for 13 years. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was a member of the DAV Chapter 32 in Plymouth, Veterans of Foreign Wars
Post 1425 in Plymouth and was a former member of the United Mine Workers of
America. He had also been involved with the Plymouth Taxpayer's Association
and served with the National Guard at the 109th Field Artilliary. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He and his wife, the former Helen T. Darak, celebrated their 48th
anniversary on June 1. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Surviving, in addition to his wife, are sons, George A. Jr., Edwardsville;
Albert, North Olmstead, Ohio; Robert, Seven Hills, Ohio; Joseph, Houston,
Texas; daughters, Mrs. Thomas J. (Theresa) Schultz, Taylor; Mrs. Richard A.
(Mary) Byczek, Plymouth; nine grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday from the Joseph B. Badman
Funeral Home, 247 E. Main St., Plymouth, with a funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. in
St. Stephen's Church. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Interment will be in the parish cemetery, Lehman. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The rosary will be recited at 2:30 p.m. Monday with the Very Rev. John L.
Fabian, pastor of St. Stephen's Church, officiating. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
