Airline riders, avoid roundabout approach -- go to the top &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 In June of this year, Continental Airlines discontiuned commuter service
between Newark Airport and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Airport, due to low usage
according to airline employeesSince I and a number of friends frequently fly
Continental from California to Wilkes-Barre, I am adversely affected by this
termination of service. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; It is now necessary for patrons from this area to either drive to
Binghamton, N.Y., and subsequently commute to Newark, or to drive directly to
Newark, which is a highly congested traffic area. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 On two separate trips recently, we opted to travel via the Binghamton
commuter and discovered there were many similarly inconvenienced passengers
from our area traveling this route. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 I have written to Continental Airlines Inc., Houston, Tex., as well as the
secretary, Department of Transportation, Washington, D.C., requesting that
consideration be given to subsidizing the airline, or using any available
means to have air service reinstated. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 I hope other citizens similarly affected by this situation will also
contact those with authority to take action. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
