store, here's a quick lesson in small-dish satellite lingo: &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; DSS stands for Digital Satellite SystemDIRECTV is a company providing most
of the standard channels available through a DSS, such as CNN, ESPN, The
Disney Channel and major networks. Subscribers choose the channels they want
from several packages, and pay accordingly. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 USSB is another program-providing company, United States Satellite
Broadcasting. It offers channels DIRECTV doesn't -- mostly movie channels such
as HBO, Showtime and Cinemax. The movie channels are really several, such as
HBO, HBO West, HBO2, HBO2 West and HBO3, each with different shows. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 DBS means Direct Broadcast Satellites, the technology which makes the small
dish system possible. Five times more powerful than older dishes, the
satellites account for the smaller dish. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 HDTV , or high definition television, is what industry-watchers call the
future of television, offering sharper and clearer pictures than current
technology allows. Existing cable systems can't handle HDTV, but a DSS can. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
