Let's recapture the promise and spirit of Christmas &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 For most of 2,000 years, we have heard or read the words of the scholarly,
as well as the skeptical, who would have us believe that Christmas is for
children and their delight alone; that the glow of this shining season is
dimmed somehow to all but younger, wider and more eager eyesReluctantly, we
confess that far too often ours is a world where hopes go begging, where
hearts hide from the light, choosing instead to shrink into the shadows of
self, where dreams dissipate and ambition follows lesser stars. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Yet, if we will only let it come, there is a current to Christmas that
catches and quickens within the meanest of us some spiritual pulse that
trembles and transfigures like music remembered or love reborn. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The eternal promise, "And a little child shall lead them," embraces the
centuries and each and every one of us willing to welcome him. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 And though our thirsting souls be stale as straw, He will make of them
mangers, wrought of gold and gently laid with linen, lamb-white and soft as
virgin snow. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 And there will He rest and reign supreme, wrapped in such worship as
becomes the King of Kings. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
