NANTICOKE -- The loud popping noises Frank Bailey heard as he prepared for
bed sounded like a pack of firecrackers exploding. Or maybe mischievous
children whacking a stop sign, his mind told him. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Whatever the noise was that startled his wife shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday
on Espy Street, Frank Bailey ignored it. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; He awoke Christmas Day to learn that the racket was the sound of six
bullets -- maybe more -- penetrating the front window of 146 Espy St. The
shots were fired from a small-caliber handgun. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Glenn Morgis, 29, the house's owner, wasn't home at the time of the
drive-by shooting. He called police when he arrived home about 5 a.m. to
report the shooting and what police say might be a related overnight burglary. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 No one was injured, and police have no suspects. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 "What happened here is incredible. This is a quiet little community filled
with senior citizens. It's very family-oriented," said Bailey, who lives
across the street. He said Morgis has only lived in the neighborhood for about
two to three years."I doubt I would recognize him if he passed me on the
street," he said. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Morgis could not be reached for comment Sunday night. The house is in the
Hanover section of the city at Espy and Bliss streets. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 "It looked like there were six holes in the front window," said John
Chorba, a neighbor, who heard about the shooting on his way to church Sunday
morning."I think it's terrible that this could happen in our neighborhood." &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Police Chief Chester Zaremba is calling the incident "a targeted shooting."
Residents in proximity to Morgis' house don't have to worry that something
like this will happen to them, he said. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 "These suspects aren't going to spray Espy Street with bullets. This isn't
something that was done randomly," he said. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The bullets are being sent to a laboratory for examination. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Police are investigating what they call a strong possibility that the
shooting is linked to a burglary at the house that same night. Police aren't
sure which took place first, Zaremba said. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Burlgars forced their way into the house and damaged a stereo. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 "We're treating them as separate incidents, but right now it looks as if
they're related." &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The police investigation of the shooting and burglary was hindered
Christmas Day by numerous police calls for the two officers on duty, Zaremba
said. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 "That leads me to believe that having two men on duty each shift just isn't
enough anymore," he said. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Nanticoke City Police are asking that anyone with information about the
