WILKES-BARRE -- A teenager required 14 stitches to his leg after being
attacked by two teens while walking Thursday morning to GAR Memorial High
School, police said. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Robert Moran, 19, of Coal Street, a senior at the high school, was walking
the same route to school he had traveled since the seventh grade. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; On Rees Street about 8:15 a.m., Moran was approached by two teens who asked
him if he had a light. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 "I said `no, I don't smoke,' " Moran said Thursday afternoon. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The two teens, both around 17, then started to attack Moran, police said.
The first suspect, who was about 6 feet tall with dark long hair and a dark
blue heavy jacket, pushed Moran and then struck him in the face, police said.
The first suspect then fled. Police said the second suspect is described as 6
feet tall with short blonde hair and a green-and-white jacket. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The second suspect pushed Moran into a truck parked between South Sherman
and South Meade streets and fled. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 "I had him in a headlock and just threw him," Moran said. "And then when I
picked my bookbag up, I saw blood." &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Moran didn't see any weapons during the fight, and doesn't know how he
received the laceration. He told police the pair didn't steal anything from
him. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Moran continued walking to school, and then called his mother, who took him
to Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township. He needed 14
stitches on his right thigh. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 "This is not a school-related incident to the best of my knowledge at this
point," said Tim Rushton, superintendent of Wilkes-Barre Area School District.
Moran told police that he did not recognize the two as being GAR students. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 GAR Principal Phil Latinski referred questions to Rushton. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Moran will be back at school today. Police said the investigation is
continuing. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
