William Cortright &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Feb. 12, 1995 &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; William C. Cortright, 79, of East Butler Street, Shickshinny, died Sunday
at the Berwick Hospital Center Emergency RoomBorn May 12, 1915, in
Shickshinny, he was the son of the late William and Anna Callear Cortright. He
was a 1933 graduate of the former Shickshinny High School. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was employed for 32 years at the former First National Bank, Mocanaqua,
retiring in 1979. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was a sergeant in World War II, serving in the South Pacific in the 31st
Dixie Division. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Shickshinny, where he
sang in the choir. He was a lifetime member of the Shickshinny Volunteer Fire
~Company, serving as treasurer for 27 years. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was a member of Sylvania Lodge F&amp;AM Number 354, Shickshinny, and the
Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6434, Mocanaqua. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He and wife, the former Lois Terry, celebrated their 52nd wedding
anniversary on June 5, 1994. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Mrs. George (Nancy)
Hasay, Shickshinny; granddaughter, Rachel Hasay. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday from the Mayo Funeral Home Inc.,
77 N. Main St., Shickshinny, with the Rev. Dean A. Walrath, pastor,
officiating. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Interment will be in Sorber Cemetery, Reyburn. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 In lieu of flowers, memorial donations, if desired, may be made to the
First United Methodist Church, Shickshinny. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
