Thirteen-year-old Kourtney cq Kosloski says she likes going to camp because
it gives her "a taste of the world." &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Although her friends snicker, she doesn't mind. She knows what she wants
from summer camp. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; On Saturday, Kosloski and others who attended the second annual Super
Summer Opportunities Camp Fair at Wyoming Seminary Lower School in Forty Fort
had an opportunity to preview the offerings of 19 facilities. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Susan Davis, a volunteer at the fair, says camp is a wonderful way for
children to learn independence. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 "It gets them away from the TV," says Davis. "Once they try going to camp,
they want to go every year." &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Although Kosloski has attended day camps only, she says that experience has
left her eager to spend several weeks away from home this summer. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 "You get to try new things you've never done before," she says. "Camp is
cool." &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Kosloski's friend, 13-year-old Emily Bost, says she has been going to
summer camps since she was 7. Bost says she would like to attend a horseback
riding camp this year. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 "I like the freedom -- to get away from home and try new things," Bost
says. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Each of the camps that were represented Saturday offered something
different. Some, such as Independent Lake Camp, offer variety. Others, such as
JKST Summer Overnight Camp, offer more focus. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Dan Gould, director at Independent Lake Camp, in Orson, Wayne County, said
his camp offers programs as diverse as circus arts and creative theater, as
well as sports and water activities. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 "We're a non-traditional camp with an elective program that's strong in the
arts," says Nigel Watson, the camp's assistant director. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 JKST, on the other hand, offers concentrated programs in tennis, squash and
golf. The camp has an excellent tennis program, says Dr. William Rubin, of
Kingston. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 "They make it very fun for the kids," says Rubin, parent of a daughter who
already has attended the camp and another who is planning to attend this year.
"It's very relaxed and they make it very homey." &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Some of the camps that attended Saturday's fair were directed at campers of
specific ages, but most accepted children from 7 to 17 years old. The camps
ranged in cost from about $995 to $4,175 for sessions ranging from two to
eight weeks. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
