<h3>Forensic skull exam is a match with Jennifer Barziloski, say cops. She went missing in 2001 as 18-year-old.</h3>


A human skull with teeth found in a wooded area of Hunlock Township has been identified as Jennifer Barziloski, state police at Wyoming said. 
Barziloski, 18, of Lake Township, was reported missing by her family in June 2001, shortly after she was last seen outside a bar in Edwardsville. 
State police said Barziloski was identified after the skull and teeth were examined by forensic ondontologists Dr. John Hosage and Dr. Steven Bonomo. Her remains were sent to the University of North Texas, Center for Human Identification, for DNA analysis, state police said. 
A human skull and bones were found in a wooded area near Roaring Brook Drive by a 12-year old boy and a 15-year old boy on April 2. 
State police and the Luzerne County Coroner&rsquo;s Office recovered bones from the area that was described as a dumping ground for animal carcasses. 
A forensic anthropologist determined that a skull was the only human skeletal remain recovered from the wooded area, state police Lt. Richard Krawetz said. 
Krawetz said the skull included teeth, which were used to compare Barziloski&rsquo;s dental records for identification. 
State police also asked the family of Phylicia Thomas for Thomas&rsquo; dental records. 
Thomas, 22, disappeared from her Lake Township home on Feb. 11, 2004. 
Barziloski, who knew Thomas, was last seen outside C Majors Sports Bar on Main Street, Edwardsville, on June 23, 2001. 
State police believed there was a common strand between the two disappearances and identified Steve Martin, 32, of Hunlock Township, as a person of interest.
Martin was reportedly the last person to be seen with Barziloski outside the Edwardsville bar. He dated Barziloski&rsquo;s sister, Leann Barziloski, and was the father of her child. 
Martin was never charged with their disappearances. He took his own life while jailed at the State Correctional Facility at Camp Hill on Aug. 10, 2005, shortly after he was sentenced for a crash that killed a woman in Wilkes-Barre. 
Martin led police on a chase through Wilkes-Barre and struck a vehicle occupied by Vera Simon at Wilkes-Barre Boulevard and Conyngham Avenue on Dec. 9, 2004, according to arrest records. 
State police are planning to conduct another search of the wooded area in Hunlock Township with cadaver dogs from New York State Police this week.
