 Jan. 4, 1996 &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; James H. Giering, 58, of High Street, Wilkes-Barre, died Thursday morning
in &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-BarreBorn Nov. 23, 1937, in Wilkes-Barre, he was the
son of the late Herbert and Ann Farrell Giering. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was a graduate of St. Mary's High School, Wilkes-Barre, and had lived in
Washington, D.C., most of his life. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 He was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene T. Giering, and a sister,
Clare Giering. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Surviving is his brother, Thomas Giering, Los Angeles. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in the Chapel of St. Mary's
Cemetery, Hanover Township, with Monsignor Joseph Rauscher, pastor of St.
Nicholas Church, officiating. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Funeral arrangements are by the Luther M. Kniffen Funeral Home Inc.,
Wilkes-Barre. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
