 Over in Bosnia they used bullets to ``cleanse'' the nation. In Washington, &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; D.C., the Gingrich-Dole machine is trying to use medical cuts to cleanse us
of the poor and helplessIn Pennsylvania, beginning Jan. 1, Gov. Tom Ridge
started his cleansing program by taking $4 out of every SSI check in the
state. This is only the beginning; more will come. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Just a few months ago, he signed an enormous pay raise for legislators and
judges. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Yet he says the state has only $5 million left of the $460 million surplus
Gov. Bob Casey left him. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Furthermore, he is using the media to preach poverty to the poor. The news
media should be calling for Ridge to rescind those pay hikes at once. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 This governor is irresponsible with money. At the rate he is going, he will
have the state $1 billion in debt when he his four years are up. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
