Arlene Nieman &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Feb. 17, 1996 &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Arlene C. Nieman, 69, of North Pennsylvania Avenue, Wilkes-Barre, died &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Saturday at Wilkes-Barre General HospitalBorn in Wilkes-Barre, she was the
daughter of the late John and Helen Borden Bahn. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 She attended Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre, and was employed at the
former American Auto Store, South Main Street, and in the toy department of
Pomeroy's Department Store, both in Wilkes-Barre, for several years. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 She was a lifelong resident of North Wilkes-Barre. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church,
Wilkes-Barre. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 She and her husband, Raymond, at home, celebrated their 49th wedding
anniversary in 1995. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 She was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Surviving, in addition to her husband, is a son, Raymond E., at home. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday from the H. Merritt Hughes
Funeral Home, 451 N. Main St., Wilkes-Barre, with Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. in
St. John the Evangelist Church. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Friends may call from 8:30 a.m. to the time of the service on Tuesday. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. John the
Evangelist Church, in care of 601 N. Main St., Wilkes-Barre, 18705, or to the
Heart Association of Northeastern Pennsylvania, Kirby Health Center, 71 N.
Franklin St., Wilkes-Barre, 18701. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
