HARRISBURG -- The Federal Emergency Management Agency on Thursday released
more than $14,000 to two Luzerne County townships to help defray costs from
January's flooding. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Dennison Township received $6,361 and Rice Township received $7,694. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The federal funds help government entities and municipalities statewide
with debris removal and costs associated with evacuation, transportation,
ambulance service, general overtime of emergency workers and roadwork. To
date, the federal government has awarded nearly $42 million. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 FEMA is paying 75 percent of approved costs. The state and local
governments are responsible for the remaining 25 percent. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
