There isn't a lot on tap this week, but everything here looks like lots of
fun! So grab the kids and go out exploring the mountain! &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 * * * * &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The big Golf Tourney sponsored by St. Jude's School will tee off tomorrow
at 1 &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 p.m. at the Sugar Loaf Golf Club. Good luck to all those hoping to win a
1996 &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Nissan with a hole-in-one on number 15! &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 * * * * This week's theme for the Kirby Library's Summer Reading Program is
Pennsylvania Symbols and Landmarks. Tuesday is the day for special activities
at the library. Laptime will be held for children ages 18 months through 2
years from 10:30-10:50 a.m. Storytime for children age 3-5 years will include
a Native American craft from 11:30 a.m.-12:05 p.m. Then from 2-2:45 p.m.,
children ages 6-12 years will make dream catchers. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Children who pre-register may go hear Ray Owens weave a tale or two at the
Saxon Pavilion in Kingston on Wednesday, 10:30 a.m. Call the library at
474-9313 for details. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

 Slocum Township is running its annual week of Recreation for the township
children this week at the Slocum Fire Hall, 10 a.m.-noon each day. Plans are
for outdoor fun, songs, games and crafts under the direction of Sally
Eisenbach and Jami Culp. To register and for more info, call Sally at
868-5647. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

 To get away from one's working environment is, in a sense, to get away from

 Mountaintop Hose Company No. 1 is hosting its 23rd annual Bazaar next
weekend, July 19-21. There's lots of stuff going on, beginning at 6 p.m. on
Friday, and 5 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday. The Firefighter's Parade will
blast through Fairview Township on Saturday at 5 p.m. Come on down to the hose
company grounds and experience great food, fun games, music, auctions and
drawings and a magic show with Pat Ward Saturday at 7 p.m. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 * * * * &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The New Hope Charge of the United Methodist Church will hold a Bible School
the week of July 22-26 at the Stairville Church. The VBS will run nightly from
6:30-8 p.m. for children ages 3-12. This year's theme is Jesus Expedition. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Children will explore the world while learning of the miracles of Jesus.
Closing program will be on Friday. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

 The Welcome Wagon Club of Mountaintop's annual Family Picnic will be held
on Saturday, July 27, 2:30-6:30 p.m. at Wright Township Park. Cost is
$10/family with a dish to share. Please RSVP by July 24th to Lori (474-7286). &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
