ATLANTA -- The U.S. women's field hockey team put themselves in the serious
hunt to win an Olympic medal with Monday's 3-2 victory over South Korea. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 To remain there, the Americans (1-0-1) must defeat Great Britain (0-1-1)
today at 8 p.m. at Morris Brown College. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; "This team is going to come out fired up trying to get two points against
us," said Crestwood High School product Diane Madl, who is a forward for the
United States. "You can take no team in this tournament lightly." &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Need an example? Well, in its opener Saturday, Great Britain was routed 5-0
by South Korea, a team the Americans beat Monday. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 On Sunday night, though, Great Britian battled to a 1-1 tie with the
Netherlands. The Americans and the Dutch also battled to a 1-1 draw Saturday. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 "The British are kind of similar to the Koreans in that they attack very
aggressively," Madl said. "They're very skilled and they really go after it.
You have to be at your best against them." &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 This will be the first time the Americans play games on back-to-back days
in the tournament. That, Madl said, shouldn't be a factor. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 "We've gone through similar situations, and we know what to expect," Madl
said. "I don't think it should be a problem." &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The big problem figures to be Great Britain. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 "Great Britian in an excellent team," U.S. head coach Pam Hixson said.
"They have great speed on the forward line. They handle the ball exceptionally
well on defense. They're a very, very strong team. We'll have to play really
well." &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
