Alchemy topic of workshop &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 A one-day workshop in alchemy is scheduled for Aug. 3 at the Elks Club, 25
WSouth St., Wilkes-Barre. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The event is sponsored by the Philosophers of Nature, an alchemical
research and training organization based in Wheaton, Ill. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Alchemy, according to a press release, emphasizes self-help, health,
healing and linking the material with the spiritual in daily life. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 "We're interested in the plant aspect," says local organizer Mark Stavish.
"Someone can make wonderfully medicinal herbal tinctures in their own
kitchen." &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Workshop topics will include methods of making herbal/plant tinctures and
elixirs for improving health, dream yoga and more. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 The instructor is Russell House, vice president of the Philosophers of
Nature and an international teacher of alchemy. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
 Handouts will be supplied, along with materials needed for the creation of
an alchemical tincture from an herb. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
